Honorary President of the Conference
As the former president of ICOG and ex-president of EFG, I am pleased to announce the 5th International Professional Geology Conference (IPGC) in Zaragoza, Spain, from November 5 to 7, 2025. This event commemorates 25 years since the first IPGC and highlights the evolution of professional geology, which now faces significant challenges such as geological hazards and environmental sustainability.
Despite its relevance, the profession has seen a decline in the number of professionals. The 5th IPGC will be a platform to address these issues and promote the creation of a World Professional Geology Organization dedicated to applying our knowledge for the benefit of society. Under the motto “Building on the Past, Advancing towards the Future: Geology in the Era of Technology,” we aim to further our mission of serving the community.
