Course Description:
This in-person training, offered by the European Federation of Geologists as part of the 5th International Professional Geologist Conference (IPGC), is designed for geoscientists ready to engage broader audiences through social media. The course covers social media types (commenter, reposter, primary poster), goal-setting, strategy building, and how to measure success through analytics. A second session helps participants develop their personal geoscience brand for professional communication.

Participants are expected to come with a topic or example to build their own communications outline.

What will we present?
Professional geologists working in the minerals sector often have very different roles and responsibilities depending on whether they work for government organisations or mining companies. In this workshop, we will explain the overall context of mineral resource assessment and the different types of reporting that are required for different stakeholders, including professionals acting as Competent Persons for PERC Reporting or as Qualified Experts for UNFC classification.
Why attend?
Participants will gain a better understanding of the role of professional geologists in mineral resource assessment, and the importance of using a systematic approach and accepted international terminology when disclosing estimates of resource quantities and qualities.
